FX TRADE OFF TUTORIALS

Welcome to the FX Trade off tutorials. Please read important notes below before completing the tutorials.

TWO TRADING PLATFORMS:

1. IBKR Mobile APP – it is the easiest platform to use and can be accessed from your smartphone or tablet.

2. Webtrader for Desktop – If you need to use a laptop or desktop then you can use this platform.

 

COMPETITION USERNAME AND PASSWORD:

Once registered for the competition, you will receive a unique username and password via email. Please use this for the purposes of the FX Trade Off competition. Be sure to check your spam folder.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
In some Universities the campus Wi-FI firewall will not allow you to login. This is outside of our control. If this occurs, please use your network provider if you are using mobile or switch to another wifi.

 

PRACTICE FIRST ON THE ‘DEMO’ ACCOUNT:

If you receive your competition username and password before the competition begins, you can practice trading with your ‘Demo Account’.

IBKR Mobile APP – Download the APP

  • Search and download  ‘IBKR Mobile’ from your app store.
  • Click on ‘Paper’ trading when logging in
  • Enter the username and password provided to you
  • See video tutorials below on how to use the platform

Webtrader for Desktop

  • Webtrader can be used for Desktop
  • Login with the username and password provided
  • Select ‘Paper’ trading when logging into the platform

How to access free Real Time Charts

If you are looking to do some technical analysis on currencies then we suggest that you use finance.yahoo.com. This is a free website which allows you to use almost every technical indicator for FREE. Below is a list of videos demonstrating how to use the chart package.

Please note, as with the TWS mobile app…you cannot draw trendlines on the mobile version. You will need to use a laptop or a pc for trendlines.
